MANDALA 64

A deck that brings together Human Design, the I’Ching, the Gene Keys & The Zodiac

How to use this deck:

  • A tarot-style card titled 'Gate of Confusion' with the number 64 and the zodiac sign Virgo. The card features a silhouette of a human head with stars and cosmic elements emerging from the top, symbolizing imagination and illumination. The card is held outdoors against a green, grassy background, and the person holding it has painted nails.

    Contemplate the Intersections of Meaning

Pull a single card and place it on your altar, your desk, or beside your bed. Let it become a quiet companion for the day. Study the symbol, sense the texture of the frequency, journal about what it stirs in you, or simply sit with it in silence. Each gate and planet carries a multidimensional teaching transmitted across millenia that reveals itself through presence and contemplation.

  • A circular arrangement of cards featuring various symbols and icons, placed on a colorful patterned rug, with a pair of bare feet visible at the bottom of the image.

    Track the Current Transits

Lay the full mandala on your floor or table in its circular sequence of 64 energies. Using a transit tracking app like Neutrino, align the fourteen celestial cards with the gates according to where the planets currently are in the sky. Watch the transits turn into a living wheel of time. This practice helps you feel the collective weather of the moment and the invitations shaping your days.

  • A set of three alternative tarot cards titled Oreintation, Freshness, and Sun, with black and white illustrations and colorful accents, alongside a black metal tin with white star designs and the number 64, on a multicolored woven fabric background.

Dive into the Wisdom of Your Design

Bring out your Human Design chart and match each of your planetary placements to its corresponding Gate card. Hold the gate and planet cards in your hands. Notice how the planetary qualities and their expressions through one of the 64 gates lives in you, how it moves through your relationships, creativity, and challenges. This is an embodied way to learn your design, one archetype at a time.

  • A person walking inside a spiral-shaped arrangement of rocks on a sandy surface near the ocean with rocks in the water.

    Ritual and Seasonal Grounding

Use the cards as anchors for seasonal ceremonies, moon rituals, or personal thresholds. Choose the gate or planet that matches the energy you’re moving through and build a simple ritual around it. Let the card act as a compass for intention and embodiment.

  • Paint palette covered with colorful paint and several paintbrushes resting on it.

    Creative Oracle

Pull a card before writing, teaching, or creating. Let it set the tone for your work session or spark a creative prompt. Each archetype contains a story, an angle, or a question that can open new pathways in your art, your voice, or your offerings.

  • Silhouettes of a man and a woman on bicycles reaching out and holding hands as the sunset sky turns orange and purple.

    Relationship Mapping

Lay out your cards next to a partner’s or friend’s Human Design placements. Explore where your charts harmonize, challenge, or activate one another. Use the cards to ground conversations in curiosity rather than assumption, seeing each connection as an interplay of archetypal energies.

Anatomy of the Cards

Each gate card has 2 sides, with different information on each side. The top banner shows the number, the Human Design Gate Name, and the Zodiac Symbol associated with the gate. The Gift frequency from the Gene Keys is displayed in the center of the Gold side of the cards, and the Shadow frequency is on the Blue cards.

When working with the 64 gate cards, I like to “flip the script” between the blue and gold sides, focusing on how the different words change how I feel about the energy of the gate and how I relate to the images.

Diagram explaining the 14 celestial cards in the Mandala: The Sun & Moon. It shows two cards for Mercury with symbols and descriptions. Green side indicates conscious or personality planets and attributes, while red side indicates unconscious or design planets and attributes. The diagram includes details about zodiac signs, planetary themes, and archetypes.

Each celestial body card has 2 sides, with the same information on each side. When matching up your Gate Cards with the Celestial Body Cards, use the Green side to indicate the Personality or Conscious placement, and the Red side to indicate the Design or Unconscious placement.

Work with these cards to learn about each planet’s archetypes, qualities, themes, and dignities (whether it is in domicile, exaltation, detriment or fall in traditional astrology). Pair each planet up with it’s corresponding gate in your Human Design chart, and contemplate the interactions between the planet’s qualities and the gate’s energies.

Work with the deck: Pull the transiting gate cards for the day or week ahead, pair them up to the celestial body cards, and place them on your altar or desk. Journal about how each of the energies show up for you during the transits.

Each planet takes a different amount of time to transit through each gate- the sun takes 5.5 days, the moon takes about 9 hours, and Pluto takes 4-6 years! If you’re new to Human Design transits, I recommend focusing on the sun’s transits, since the sun is responsible for 70% of the chart’s energetic influence. Come back to this page, check which gate the sun is in, and pull that card to focus on for the week.

Work with the MANDALA 64 deck: Generate and download your human design chart through the generator below, and pull the Gate Cards that correspond for each planetary placement. I recommend working with your Personality/Conscious planets first, and then pulling Gate cards for your Design/Unconscious placements later, but it’s up to you!

Conscious or Personality planets in Human Design are the placements of the planets in the sky at the time of your birth (the same as your astrology birth chart placements). They are usually black on a human design chart, and located on the right hand side of the chart.

Unconscious or Design planets in Human Design are the placements of the planets in the sky 88 days before your birth. They are usually red on a human design chart, located on the left-hand side of the chart.
