“In our infancy as a species, we felt no separation from the natural world around us. Trees, rocks, and plants surrounded us with a living presence as intimate and pulsing as our own bodies.”

Eco-somatic Astrology

A person walking on a trail through a forest with tall trees, some with white bark, and autumn yellow leaves, under a clear blue sky.

Sometimes things get feel out of rhythm, like your body and your life are moving to two different tempos.

Maybe you feel:

  • Burnt out or wired, but rarely truly rested

  • Disconnected from your body’s signals and needs

  • Stuck repeating the same emotional patterns, no matter how much you “work on yourself”

  • Numbed out by screens, news, or stress, and craving something more real

  • Longing for a deeper relationship with the land and seasons where you live

  • Unsure how to turn astrological insight into actual daily practices

  • Confused about why certain times of year always feel tender, intense, or unstable

  • Curious how your chart might map to your nervous system, emotions, and energy levels

If this sounds like you, a birth chart or transit reading can help you find clarity.

What is Eco-Somatic Astrology?

  • Child photographing flowers in a garden bed

    Eco-Somatic = Relational

I look at astrology as a language of relationship with the seasons of life. Not just the solar seasons of spring, summer, winter & fall, but the cyclical seasons that are highlighted by each of the planetary cycles in our solar system.

Mercury is an 88-day season, Mars is a 2-year season, Jupiter is a 12-year season, and Saturn is a 29-year season. Reflecting on these planetary cycles in our lives can help us see the bigger picture.

    Eco-Somatic = Ancestral

The language and mythology of astrology was created by our ancient human ancestors. These ancestors felt no true distinction between their bodies and the natural world that surrounded them. The stories they told about the planetary cycles and resulting seasons on Earth helped them survive and live in harmony with the environment. I look at your chart through this lens, tapping into the earth-connected ancient ones who live within each one of us.

  • Person surrounded by blooming white cherry blossoms in a nature setting.

    Eco-somatic = Embodied

An ecosystem is defined as a community of interacting organisms and their physical environment. Our human bodies are integral parts of these communities, from the microbes that live within us to the communities of animals and plants that we depend on. Over the past several hundred years, modern philosophical and religious thought has removedus from the interconnected web of nature, but many of us are returning to a worldview of embodied interconnection and interdependence.

  • Person sitting on cliff edge under starry night sky with Milky Way visible.

You are interconnected with the world around you: planets, plants & people.

Ecological Astrology looks at astrological history, myths, stories, and signs as a language for understanding humanity’s interconnected place in the cycles of the natural world. Ecological Astrology helps us know ourselves better through the stars, planets, and stories of our ancestors, guided by the wisdom that knowing ourselves helps us to betker now and care for the earth herself.

I offer natal chart readings and transit readings that are guided by your questions and curiosities about your unique gifts, current challenges, and deep dreams.

My background and training is in both modern evolutionary astrology, which considers each person's birth chart as a map of the soul's evolution, and traditional astrology, which considers the historical origins of the art and science. My special focus that has evolved over a decade of study is what I call eco-somatic astrology, which looks at the signs, planets, and houses as connection stories to our relationship with the natural world.
